Over ten years ago Robin Sharma wrote the book: The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari: A Fable About Fulfilling Your Dreams & Reaching Your Destiny
and began a resurgence of interest in spirituality.

Today the book is available in 42 languages with millions of readers world wide.

I just finished reading it for the first time. The book is an easy page turning read. I found the story of Julian Mantle, the Monk who sold his Ferrari, fascinating as well as uplifting.

As Julian tells his story to his best friend, John, over a very long night, he reveals a different way of living, on a simple but more fulfilling level.

As Julian talks the transformation begins in John as he absorbs the methods Julian used to total transform his life from a top gun lawyer burning his candle at both ends, to a Monk who’s life purpose is now to share his emancipation to as many people as he can.

From a man who almost dies from a heart attack to a revitalized , vigorous and radiant being, Julian’s passage gives hope for all of us who search for meaning and purpose to our lives.

Here is Julian’s words of Goal setting which is beautifully illustrated in the book:

People spend their whole lives dreaming of becoming happier, living with more vitality and having an abundance of passion. Yet they do not see the importance of taking even ten minutes a month to write out their goals, and to think deeply about the meaning of their lives, their Dharma. Goal-setting will make you life magnificent. You world will become richer more de;oghful and more magical.

    Here’s another quote,

“The quality of your life will come down to the quality of your contribution.”

    And this:

When you work to improve the lives of others, you indirectly elevate you won live in the process.

    And this about laughter:

“Laughter opens you heart and soothes your soul. No one should ever take life so seriously that they forget to laugh at themselves.”

Like all of the best books on spirituality and self development, this one becomes a handy reference to ponder and return to in order to refresh the spirit while giving encouragement to strive for those goals of service.

I highly Recommend the book, whether you read it ten years ago or not, it’s time to hear the story of Julian Mantle retold.
