Angels Whispher: A Quote about Walking
By Nick Grimshawe on December 12, 2008 | No Comments
If you are seeking creative ideas, go out walking. Angels whisper to a man when he goes for a walk.

Angels Whisper
Wednesday we (Emma, Felix and me) went for our walk in the pouring rain. This time of year you go what ever the weather.
I enjoy walking in the rain, being out in the weather, feeling the cold rain on my face and listening to the wind rustle the tall brown grasses.
For the last four walk something very interesting has been happening.
About a quarter of the way along our walk, we are greeted by a small hawk sitting on the overhead hydro line. He waits there for us to get close, then he flies off on down the trail and alights on another overhead wire. There he waits and watches our approach. When we get close off he goes again. This time way ahead to a point where the wires cross over the dyke road. He sits there patiently waiting our arrival. Each time on these walks, this is where he allows us to get the closes to him. He waits until we are almost under him and he and I are looking eye to eye. Then he takes off again and does not return. He never meets us as we head back along the trail. He only greets us on the outward leg of our walk and always the same three stops.
Interesting?
Each time has been exactly the same. Maybe he is just escorting us across his property. I do not know but I do find it curious that he never accompanies us back.
Also on this walk I counted 21 Bald Eagles, in the trees along the river. The salmon are spawning. As the salmon struggle to leave new life behind them, their final sacrifice is to give their lives to sustain other life around them.
If you haven’t been out on a walk lately, make this weekend the time to venture out and discover the abundance all around us, deepen your appreciate of all life, and touch the heart of stillness in all things.
And remember to walk in quiet places.
