It’s time to take off all your clothes…no, no…hear me out…metaphorically speaking of course. The clothes I am talking about are old habits, rusty crusty fears, ugly hates, nasty self denials, faulty self images, and shrinking pettiness.
It’s time to don your new clothes of bright and shinny colors. It’s time to let your light shine. Time to let that light seek out and shine in all the dark corners.
The world needs you to shine! So shine!
I just finished reading a survey of people who buy the lion’s share of self growth products. The survey reveals that most
people never use or practice the materials they buy. They just sit gathering dust and piling up yet another guilt on a chain
of guilt’s going back into dim childhood.
It’s similar to today’s modern roses. Here we have a perfectly formed and beautiful rose that fails to deliver the one thing we all expect from a rose…scent. Every time I pick up one of these beauties my instinct is to sniff the flower for it’s scent. I am always a little let down when I don’t get that whiff of some exotic fragrance. I mean, how can you stop and smell the roses if they have no smell?
Many of the beautifully packed self growth material out there…full of great content and exercises fail to deliver the one ingredient essential to success….commitment on the part of the participant. They promise, easy, simple methods leading to over night success but forget the motivation to get you there.
Nothing happens until you commit to something.
I bet you have examples of this in your own life. You know of a time when you committed to something so completely it came true or you achieved the thing you committed too.
As an example from my own life: I was a diabetic for ten long years taking medication in ever increasing dosages until one day in anger, I said” No more of this…I am going to beat this no matter what.” I said that with as much conviction as I have said anything in my life. When you do that the universe opens up the doors to a solution. That’s what happened t0 me.
I am sure you have similar stories. They don’t have to be commitments to changing the world over night or bringing peace to a war ravished country…it could be as simple and as sweet as winning the heart of the person you love.
Do you have a story about committing to a goal or a project or a cause that resulted in some form of transformation in your life?
I’d love to share those stories here.

Here’s your quotes before you wonder off into the beautiful day.
“There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when circumstance permit. When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.”
“Commitment unlocks the doors of imagination, allows vision, and gives us the “right stuff” to turn our dreams into reality.”
