“It is only by acknowledging that you have created everything up until now that you can take charge of creating the future you want.”
~ W Clement Stone, from The Success Principle by Jack Canfield
That is one of my all time favorite quotes for it is the stepping stone from your life now, to the unlimited potential of your future. Recognizing the truth: that you are a creative genius, and that you were the one to engineer your current circumstances, allows you to perfect that genius by your own conscious design.
Now a lot of people don’t , won’t or can’t acknowledge their creative power.
Taking responsibility for it all isn’t easy. You have to accept the bad along with the good.
You have to be willing to look at the carbuncles, as well as gems and that goes against ingrained habits including the desire to be right at any cost, to deflect responsibility by portioning blame to others, and choosing to be blind to intuitive knowledge.
I know you came here because you are aware that you are a creative genius, at least deep down you know that, other wise you would not be searching, and you would not have found this page.
So how do you take conscious control of shaping the life you really want to live?
The really simple answers is: By living it. And literally that is true. But we might need a way to get there and writing out your ideal scene is one of those ways.
What is an ideal scene. It is the perfect picture or ideal, of any reality, in this case the perfect picture of your life, and how you want to live it.
To start the transformation you need to write out in as much detail as you can possible muster your ideal life.
Think about what your perfect life would be like. I’m asking you to day-dream about your “Ideal Scene.”
What would your ideal of life be? Where would you live? What people would be in your life? What would you be doing that would fulfill your ambition and your life purpose? What would a day in your life look like?
Have you ever imagined it?
This is where a journal comes in. Journal about you ideal life.
First you want to outline in broad strokes what that life would be like. Then you need to write out in detail what a single day in that life would look like, from the moment you wake up to the moment you head hits the pillow that night.
You don’t have to do it all at once. But you need to make it real by using five senses: Sight, Sound, Smell, Taste and Touch.
Take your time and really use all your creative juices. It doesn’t have to be great prose, just really clear in your minds eye. You should be able to visualize the sounds and the smells and the feelings.
You can write out as many ideal scenes as you want. A new one for each situation.
For instance, I have a dream of traveling and living in Italy. I have two visualization for this, all going back to my original Ideal Scene.
I have one of the plane landing at “Leonardo da Vinci International Airport in Rome. I have it from the final approach announced by the captain, to all the sound of the plane, all the sensations of touching down, the slight wobble of the plane as the tires hit the tarmac, and the bouncy ridge up to the terminal, and the smell of Rome that enters into the cabin when they finally pop the door.
The other image I have on this same theme, is a week spent in Rome with my whole family, my partner, my son and his girl friend, by three sisters and their husbands. I know the old villa we stay in for the week. I know we have some ground rules. One of those rules is that we are not obligated to each other as far as everyone one going to the same places etc, but we must all return by 8 pm to a restaurant chosen by a different family member each night where we recount our daily adventures over the two most Italian of all things, Food, and Wine.
It’s much more detailed than that but I wanted you to get the idea.
As you live in this world, it becomes your world. Live it breath it, waking and sleeping.
You can take your “ordinary” life and make it extra-ordinary.
All you have to do is the work: and that you have to do daily.
