You Are Job One

Wet Tulip
Wet Tulip by Pauline DeForest

Good day. Welcome to another special day in your life.

I have a few things to mention before I get into today’s message.

First off I want to tip my hat to my sister Pauline DeForest for all her work with the photography that quite often graces these pages. Since she took up photography as a hobby a few years ago you can see the growth in her eye for capturing the moment through the lens. The last set of photo’s she sent to me ( the tulip is an example) has to be her best work yet. So thank you Pauline for your faith in this newsletter, and for added pleasure to these pages.

On that note, I am always looking for photos and many of you have contributed in the past, and I thank you all. If you have any photos you would like to contribute, I will thank you from the bottom of my heart. While I can’t pay you for them I can put your name up in lights and if you have a website,  I will be more than happy to promote that for you.

On another note, Carolyn Beale of has foolishly agreed to be my editor for my book tentively Title: Beautiful Summer Morning Day Book, which is half way to completion. I have a target of publishing by October this year. She is also willing to work with me on two other projects, one being an e-book about my experiences freeing myself from diabetic drugs.(see my article:
I recently had the opportunity to meet Carolyn to discuss plans and to chat about the spiritual community. So I came away feeling I am in very capable hands.
Now onto Job One.
Whatever your goals are in life, no matter how vaulted or how humble to achieve them your work  is you.

To be the best father, the best mum,  the best parent, the best business partner, means that you must work on you.

To be there for another with love, understanding and compassion…you must first have love, understanding and compassion for you.

To work on self, is to work on the whole wide universe.
Quite often in our conversations we define ourselves my our job…I’m a Dental Technician…I’m a teacher…I’m a truck driver…even…I am just a laborer or a home care worker.
You are more than “just” anything!
When you spend ten minutes of your day in quiet reflection you begin to change those around you…your family…you friends. When you encourage others to do that you begin to change the community and by extension… the world.
Ten minutes a day working on Job One!
We often feel that working on self is not important…that we need to put family or work first…then if we have time…perhaps.
We may feel that we a stealing time away from family for some selfish goal.
My experience has been that everything you do to grow yourself…comes back to those around you in spades.
There’s only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that’s your own self.

Men are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves; they therefore remain bound.

Good, better, best; never let it rest till your good is better and your better is best.

To paraphrase another famous quote: live the dreams of a self greater than who you are today and you will arrive at the destination a finer being than you ever thought possible.
You are Job One!
With Love
