This is astounding and beautiful and inspirational, all the things I look for for this feature. It is made extraordinary by the fact that my finding this, this morning, on my YouTube suggestions list, and that it was the first one I opened, answered my ask for a sign that I made a connection this morning during my meditation.

So this is special on so many levels.

Let it open your heart this Sunday.

Here is the Poem:

A Tethered Falcon

My heart sits on the Arm of God
Like a tethered falcon
Suddenly unhooded.

I am now blessedly crazed
Because my Master’s Astounding Effulgence
Is in constant view.

My piercing eyes,
Which have searched every world
For Tenderness and Love,
Now lock on the Royal Target–
The Wild Holy One
Whose Beauty Illuminates Existence.

My soul endures a magnificent longing.

I am a tethered falcon
With great wings and sharp talons poised,
Every sinew taut, like a Sacred Bow,
Quivering at the edge of my Self
And Eternal Freedom,

Though still held in check By a miraculous
Divine Golden Cord.

Beloved, I am waiting for You to free me
Into Your Mind
And Infinite Being.
I am pleading in an absolute helplessness
To hear, finally, your Words of Grace:
Fly! Fly into Me!

This Sunday say your gratitude for your family and your friends.

With Love Nick

Let me give you an example to start off with. Lets say you have had a big fight with your husband or wife first thing in the morning, and now you are driving to work, gripping the steering wheel and fuming about this and that, replaying the memory of the fight over and over in your mind. You get to work barely cognizant of how you got there then stomp into your office angry about the day.

During that time you have completely lost track of your life.

You failed to notice on your drive in just how the fog banks weaved between the mountains, low down on the slopes. You didn’t see the sunlight higher up the slopes sparkling off new fallen snow. You failed to noticed the clear blue sky and the two eagles soaring on the thermals over the steaming river. You missed the deer grazing at the side of the road. You missed a whole hour out of your life.

You’ve just been robbed by time bandits who have made off with the prize of an hour out of your day.

What did the whole exercise of replaying the fight do for you? Oh you made yourself right and the other person wrong and you validated your rightness in a number of ways, but the fight is still there and nothing about it has changed because the past is forever inaccessible to you.

You may have even speculated just what you where going to do to that person when you got home that night, maybe even resolve not to speak, to use the silent treatment and really make them wrong.

But that’s in the future and you don’t live there. You live only here in the now, in this one moment, one moment at a time.

You’ve allowed attitude to select you instead of you selecting your attitude.

Unfortunately this scenario plays out many times in a single day. The lapse may not be as dramatic as that. Simple little things rob us of our lives everyday. Replaying the conversation with your boss, trying to decide if your co-worker was making a dig with her last remark…wondering what you will wear to the dinner on Saturday night.

How do you change the distractions to focus more directly on the moment, and there by live your life to the fullest?

It takes time, practice and a will to succeed.

Here is one little trick I use to retrain my brain. When I catch myself drifting off on a tangent I stop and say:
“Wait a minute, I am not going to let time bandits steal my life,” and force myself to refocus on what I am doing. As you do this you will slowly build a new pattern in the brain, that brings you closer to living your life in the now, the only real place you can live it.

You have the power to live your life in its fullest capacity once you chase away those time bandits.

Nick

Next time I will talk about one of the biggest time bandits out there.

Once we have separated out of the oneness and learned to attach an “I” to that cobbled together identity we find it difficult to conceive of our original state of inclusion in the wholeness of source or source energy. Yet there is always this desire , in everything we do to get back to this native state of oneness but the “I” stands squarely in our path, obscuring our vision, obscuring the way.

In his book, The Empathic Civilization: The Race to Global Consciousness in a World in Crisis

Jeremy Rifkin, spends time exploring just how that “I” forms from an inability to grasp separateness to the slow leaning process of separation.

We have in essence this basic tension between our pathological desire to retain our separate and unique identity and a desire to subsume ourselves into the nurturing sea of source energy. We can see this in our need to associate, to belong to a group or part of a family. We can see this in our desires to at once pocess and submit completely to a lover. The need to merge “back into” drives us as much as our need to hold a separate identity.

Peace for ourselves and for all mankind is in finding and holding the balance.

How do we get to that point of balance?

First and foremost is the awareness that such a tension exsists, that the tension is a natural dance, that we all move our feet with the music.

An understanding of how the “I” comes into exsistence, makes possible a shift in consciousness, creates an adgility to move from one to the other, eventually at will. When we get to that state we are freed from our ego’s all consuming passion for survival which allows us to reach out and be part of, once again, the pure energy of source.

That doesn’t mean, as some have suggested, that the ego is dead, or mysterious removed from the scene. Instead you understand that the “I” is a complete and total fabrication created by you for the purpose of experience.

If you have read any of the teachings of Abraham
then you understand we have come forth of that experience.

You could say we get lost in the idenity of our own creation and forget the purpose that brough us here.

Our ego is the Frankenstein we have created and suddenly can no longer control.

Some have said the balance is easy to find and maintain. If that’s so why are so many people seeking purpose to their lives?

The is a path of course of those who wish to seek it, and trundle on down it’s dusty by ways. Their is a path and with daily committment and faith one can arrive at a cosmic balance where in lies all the joy, peace and harmony we seek.

You are the journey.

See you round the campfire tonight.

Nick

Some of the best work being done in the field of spirituality and self development comes from the team of Abraham-Hicks. They recently released The Vortex: Where the Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships

I haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but I am sure it continues their tradition of offering very sensible solutions to some of life’s most vexing questions.

Here Abraham speaking through Esther Hicks explains how to get into your vortex accompanied by some beautiful photography.

I hope you enjoy.

What is in your list three? What are you planning to do today that comes from list three? The more you can fill your time with the things from list three the more time you will find and the more distant the beat of time will seem to you.

Inspirational Quote

“Cherish your visions. Cherish your ideals. Cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts, for out of them will grow all delightful conditions, all heavenly environment; of these, if you but remain true to them, your world will at last be built.”

Source: James Allen

Cherish the Music That Stirs Your Heart

How’s your listing exercises going? If you have been scribbling away on your lists:

Things You Must Do or Have to Do

Things You Are Expected to Do

and

Things You Love To Do.

you should have some interesting things playing through your mind.

Eliminating things in list one and two creates that special timeless zone which takes you out of the dizzy flow of time and puts your into a truly peaceful, blissful state.

We have been taught that we should have no down time, that not being active and busy is a sign of a weak character.

Yet it is within the heart of stillness we come face to face with out true selves our true character.

All the stillness in your life, if you really look, comes out of those things you’ve put into the third list…The Things You Love to Do.

When you first look at the list it might seem disjointed, unorganized and lacking in significance. But if you group similar things within the list together you will start to see themes emerge. With a little work you will find a unified whole to all the items in that list.

You need to take that list some where quiet and ponder all the joy within it.

Don’t rush the process. Take your time…all the time you need.

Within this list lies your own life purpose.

Within this list lies your timeless self.

With in this list is liberation from time itself.

You need to cherish that list for there you will find the music that stirs your heart.

My life’s purpose came out of finally grasping the common denominator running through all the things I love to do.

This isn’t an exercise you do then move on. Keep the lists: add to them when a thought strikes you.

Your end goal is to only do the things in list three…just do the things you love. Think what a world we would live in if we could all do just that.

It’s a dream and dreams do come true.
