Sometimes when you listen to a voice in song you are connected on some level to the heart and the soul of the singer. This happens to me when I listen to Joshua Kadison. There is something in his voice that talks to a whole emotional experience that is rare in performance.
The song Kadison sings here is beautiful with a beautiful thought and gives us a deliciously profound parting saying: “I wish for your beautiful things.”
Can you imagine ending a conversation with a friend of a love one with those wonderful words?

I totally know what you mean and have tried to describe this feeling to people before and often been told I am mad! I think that only some people really “get” this feeling.
I also love listening through my headphones, I feel somewhat protected and more “in my bubble” which is a feeling I really like, espeically when trying to focus on something.

Hi Vera, I am really happy that you understand what I am taking about…it is such a hard feeling to describe but within the moment there is a powerful emotional connections that I don’t pretend to understand. It is better to just appreciate it when in happens than to try to figure out why it happens. The temptation, and I was doing this last night, is to do too much figuring on it. I don’t get this with every singer I like…just in very rare occasions I feel that connection in a forceful way. When that happens I, we, need to understand that it is a gift we are receiving…and just allow it to roll through us.
