Listening to the Silence: Guided Meditation # 13 – http://t.co/uYtPzXnr (via @sociablesite)
First off I would like to say awesome blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing. I’ve had trouble clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or tips? Thank you!
Hi Violet, first off thank you for your kind comments about my blog, we’ve been at it for quite sometime now.
You have an excellent question, one I am not sure I can 100% answer. I am blessed in that I rarely have trouble sitting down to write. Basically what I do is:
1. Don’t sit down with any preconceived ideas about what you are going to write about.
2. Then I do something I am not sure how to describe…but essentially I open myself up to Source Energy, or God or what ever you call that guiding intelligence within you to allow that intelligence to work through you…sort of like channeling. It’s a letting go or a giving up of yourself to the process.
3. I trust the process…that when I do open up I will receive what I need to write? I think this is really important.
4. Start typing.
I think if you understand that you are being guided…that the words that go onto the page flow our of the void, that you are creating something from nothing…and that there is magic in that…you are less likely to get hung up on what to write. When I begin to write I rarely know what I am going to write about. In my newsletter…(which I would recommend to you) I just start with some form of greeting and that seems to kick things off. I am always amazed at what comes forth.
A constant practice of meditation is also a good thing. If you get use to finding that space in meditation where you open up, then it gets easier just to sit down at the keyboard and allow. If you are not all ready mediating 20-30 minutes a day…I would recommend you do that. I am sure it will help you rapidly clear your mind to write.
Until we meet again:
