Gift Yourself with Peace: Thursday Guided Meditation #1

Hello folks,
Shortly I will begin to record special guided meditations for you. I want to do this for several reasons. I want to encourage more people to start meditating. I can’t overstate the benefits of taking time, for a quiet moment with your self where we can escape the hectic pace of our lives and begin the process of really listening to our true self rather than the constant stream-of-consciousness thought that flows through us all day long. Once we begin to tune into our true self, the cares and worries of the world that you carry on your shoulder begins to ebb away. You begin to relax your body and gift yourself with peace. Since stress caused disease is rampant in our society it makes enormous sense to participate in a daily practice of meditation as your own form of preventive medicine.
There is ample evidence that reducing stress in your life has multiple health benefits.
Meditation is one of the most effective ways to do that.
How to find the time to meditate is the number one question I get asked which is why I will keep the meditations in this feature short…from 8 to 20 minutes.
But here is a better question to ask yourself…how committed are you to living a stressed filled life with all the danagers imposed by our modern life style?
If your answer is you are not committed to a life of constant stress then you now have an opportunity to do something about it…to take action. Making the commitment to find the time is your first step. Your second step is committing to do the work…that will return your effort with better health, a richer life…and the very real possibility of stepping through the doorway into the land of magic.
Consistent practice will do that.
The magic is waiting for you.
Try this short meditation, once a day for the following week. Stick to it. I know you will be amazed at what will happen to you just by giving yourself, ten minutes of peace each day for the next week. And please write about how you do in the comments section below. Important Note: It is not necessary to sit in a lotus position to meditate. Sit straight in a comfortable chair and if at all possible use a headset to listen to your guide as they take you through the process.
