Inspire # 5: Weeding the Garden
I am inspired by weeding the garden. I know that sounds strange but the work allows my mind to drift and examine things on many levels.
For instance: Abundance.
As I weed I keep thinking about how abundant the weeds really are. They are everywhere and seem to multiply at a very prolific rate. Is there a lesson there about Abundance? If I want to be more abundant how do I make like a weed? Or is it something more sutble than that?
When I really think about it, nature is abundant…so how do we get so hung up on scarcity?
I think it’s because we tend to focus on the things we don’t want…like weeds…like debt…like illness.
So is being more abundant just an exercise in focusing on what we do want?
I know when I really wanted something…really wanted it…and I made a decision to go after it.. and well I succeeded.
I wanted to get off diabetic medication. I did, and I suppose that made me more abundantly healthy more abundantly fit.
Once you make a decision( a real one) the universe finds ways to help you out, which is what happened to me.
I received and email with info on a herbal suppliment that helped me reduce my blood sugar. I got a report on weight training, which I read and followed as best I could…off to the gym. I found an article that talked about the carbohydrate trap…the more you eat of them the more you want. Stop eating them and your need for them is vastly reduced.
So is it a matter of focusing strongly on a desired goal, then paying attention to the messages that comes your way?
Maybe that’s where I stray of the path (excuse me). You have to want it badly enough to do the work…take action…and pay attention when the Universe trys to help you out.
That’s just one reason weeding inspired me.
Guess I’d better get back to my abundant weeds.

Great article, like your approach to the subject. Never loked a weeding as a lesson in abundance,
