What Gifts Came Your Way Today?

If you are going through your day running on automatic, doing the things you always do, following your sacred and set schedule then you will get a routine and orderly day back at you. God forbid anything gets in the way of that well worn groove of your life. You are not looking for surprises and you definitely don’t want any! Then you find yourself wondering about the treadmill you seem to be on, how life feels dull and tired and uninspired.
In each day there is a gift there for you all wrapped up in sparkly paper with a big fat red bow on top. But because we don’t look for it, we pass it by, leaving it lost on some dusty side street of life, never to be opened, never to be appreciated, never to be experienced.
The gift can be as simple as sunlight sparkling off water, or as complex as quantum physics. The gift might touch lightly on your heart or explode in one of those mind blowing “AH HA” moments.
But there is no gift until you look for it.
Don’t let a gift pass you my during some unconscious moment.
What was the gift or gifts in you day today.
Get more in tune to finding the gifts in your day by writing them down in a journal.
This will help you develop the habit of looking for them.
And remember to give thanks for the gifts you do find.
