Inspirational Quote of the Day

“Let your mind start a journey thru a strange new world. Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be…Close your eyes let your spirit start to soar, and you’ll live as you’ve never lived before.”

Let Your Spirit Soar

The other night I watched a “Torchwood”   Episode called “Out of Time”, where three people are ripped out of their time, 1953, into modern-day UK. The story follows these three people as they try to adjust to the all the sudden change. It also follows  three  other  people that attempt to help them through the adjustment.

The first plot is a beautiful love story between the women out of time and the man from our time who falls in love with her. She eventually leaves him to take off in the old plane they arrived in to see if she could find her way back through time to 1953.

The second story is off the youngest one, a young girl full of life and a spirit of adventure and the woman who tries to gently guide her through the pit falls of the modern world. In this story the young woman is destined to adjust and make a new life in this exciting new world.

The final story, the most tragic yet most impressive, follows an older man from 1953 as he comes to terms with the fact that his son is still alive in an old age home, and is now older than him, and that his wife, while she lived to be 82, has passed away.

The man,(Jack) who is tasked to help this man adjustment has the biggest challenge and keeps coming face to face with his own tragedy.
In the end , the man out of time decides to kill himself. While he is rescued by Jack  the first time, he makes it clear that he will keep on trying until he succeeds, and Jack, his protector facing his own demons, realizes that he has no choice but to to hold the dying man’s hand.

You ask, “So Nick, what is so uplifting about that?”

My answer is that this is a story about all of us, in time, but at the same time, outside of time.

Attached to what we believe is real, we are caught on a plain of our own desires…yet we are something else as well…no matter how scared or how frightened by the part of ourselves we understand the least…the non

- physical part of us…the heart and soul… that part that is lighter than air, that floats on a moonbeam… that rises upward to the brighter light that is our non physical existence.

It is not our bodies that connect us, it is that part of us outside of time…the eternal spirit if you will.

In the end…it is all right. I can’t think of anything more uplifting.

It is ALL right!
