Trip softly the star lit field of dark shadows and silver light, with the only ghost your laughter  spilling across the golden silence of the night.

The medicine man’s response to your distress; a tickle with a feather.

Over the backyard fence with a neighbor shared laughter at the twists and turns of fate.

We will not bough down under the burden. Instead we will throw back our heads and let our laughter shake the doors of heaven wide open.

I had a friend years ago who could get me to laugh hysterically at the foibles of life. With that twinkle in his eye, the slight twist to his mouth, and the most outlandish stories, he could have me in tears in moments. The story about the garden hose he made into a sprinkler still makes me shake even today. Even in some pretty desperate moments he had that knack of finding  humor.

I will always love him because he could make me laugh.
