Take the Tide in the Morning

I will take the tide in the morning,
At the time of the rising sun,
To be carried where ever I am going,
Upon the spangled sea of light.
The ocean will roar in my ears,
Like the blood rushing through my veins,
One surge after another timed to the celestial beat.
The stars will shine as companions,
On my journey through the darkest realms,
And see me back to the land of beginning,
Where yet the green hills are calling,
From their sun dappled slopes,
And the breeze is still warm like a gentle exhale.
Back where the laughter is still ringing
Through the woods and the fields.
Just take the tide as it washes your shore,
Let it sweep you on your journey to distant chimes,
And a smile will crease you lips
and a single tear drop fall.
