Pay Attention to the Miracle

Sometimes late at night I hear the rain tapping against my window pane. Such a simple sound really. Yet somehow just hearing the tapping of the rain blown against my window by the wind, I am transported some how to all the places where I have been and heard that strangely comforting sound.

For me there is never just another night of rain against my window: Every time is a fine outstanding miracle.

I have been commuting to work now for well over ten years.

People ask me how I stand to do that day in day out.

Again it’s simple really: no commute is ever the same…not once, not ever…no really.

The fact that we were born into the time we were born into, the fact that we have the lives we have, the friends we have, the family we have, they are all miracles.

I don’t think we give thanks often enough for all those treasures, each one new and unexpected, like the fresh dawning of a new day glowing in the rays of a new sun, on beautifully vibrant fields, and hills and trees, and valleys and mountains, all under a clear blue sky that goes on forever.
