    Being Better

I have no fear for you gentle reader. I know that you read this Blog because you are devoted in some way to living a fuller, better life, and that in that endeavor you are also devoted to helping others in some way.

Now you might get all bashful on me and protest that what you do isn’t really anything, but I will disagree.

Change comes in small increments applied each day. Small steps lead to giant leaps.

A book doesn’t suddenly appear in full cover, in arrives one single word at a time. Even the longest novels come about the very same way, one word at a time.

So it is with all great things.

Once you are on the path to self improvement, there really is no turning back, as the quote suggests. If you stop trying to be better, you will stop being good.

I don’t always jump out of bed to run down stairs to do my sunrise salutation, or my 100 push ups or that whole long hour
of meditation, but I am always happy that I got it done for another day!

Two days ago I was stunned to see the results of my daily routine. I have been treated (successfully) for about ten years now, for high blood pressure. My read two days ago…. 109/71 ! Unheard of for me!

On my way home last night I was listening to a CD where the moderator said that 98% of all people continue to live unconscious lives He even talked about creating a product for those who only want to sit and watch TV and drink beer, which did not require a daily commitment of more that a few minutes.

My dictum is: ten minutes a day, devoted to some form of meditation , prayer, visualization, will reap enormous changes over time.

It isn’t always easy, even those ten minutes, and the devil is in the temptation to skip it, just for today!

So I applaud you every single step of the way.

That’s why it’s great to be out on the Great Wide Way with you, sharing stories, and laughter, and oh yes the pain and heartache too.

We are true pilgrims, you and I.

    How joyous is that?

    Nick

Wouldn’t it be great if we each had our own tough guy
to chase away the villains that plague us daily — the
limiting beliefs, the negative thoughts and emotions,
    the self-sabotaging habits?
