Field of Dafs by Pauline DeForest

“Practice means to perform, over and over again in the face of all obstacles, some act of vision, of faith, of desire. Practice is a means of inviting the perfection desired.

Invite Perfection

Experience teaches what words cannot.

As an example I might talk to you about the experience of driving a car, giving every detail down to the most minute sensation, yet until you actually climb into a car to drive it down the freeway you will have only a vague idea of what I am talking about.

Self development is the same.

We read the books, listen to the motivational speakers, watch the DVD’s but they are pale imitations of the real thing. To actually experience spending a stretch of time living in “The Now” is the only way you will understand the joy of being in the moment.

The only way to get there is with daily practice.

I have another example.

This morning(Sunday as I write) while I meditated a flash of understanding zapped me.

I understood something I had never understood before.

My revelation might seem simple to you, or ho-hum,”like it’s taken you all this time to figure that out?”

But I discovered a new insight that left me stunned that I had never had that thought before.

I thank my daily practice for bringing that thought to light.

I have been meditating every morning, with very few exception for over 9 months, I could related all the wonderful things that have happened to me in that time. If you are engaged is some form of daily practice then you will understand what I am talking about.

Daily practice need not be complicated just consistent.

Invite perfection into your life.

Start some form of daily practice today. Even if your practice is to sit on your patio each morning with a cup of coffee while you breathe in the scents of a beautiful summer morning.

There is joy in the moment.
