Nick, that is a beautiful sunrise… what a way to greet the day.

Hi Nicole,

Yes I got very excited when I decided to take my early morning walk about.
I’ve got a few pictures of that sunrise.

Hi Nick,
I’m glad you got time to “recharge your batteries” . I really enjoyed your photos, the sunset is so beautiful and it was fun to see your cabin and walking sights. Did your dogs get to go too?

Reconnecting in quiet spaces is so needed for all of us. If I can’t get to a spectacular place I just look at the sky and get lost in the clouds, it works for me…especially in the early morning or the early evening, or even the stars later at night. The sky can be a constant place to let go in. Other than that I like to just go for walks and be in nature.

Looks like you had a nice break even if you didn’t get any potato chips!

Thanks again,

Susan

Hi Susan,

Yes it was an enjoyable break. I agree that we don’t need to get away to find quiet places, you can in fact create them anywhere. I love the sky as a place to look to find stillness, or quietness, the stars scream quiet to me, if that makes sense.

That sunrise I think ranks as the most beautiful I have seen and with it came an incredible peace and stillness.

As for the potato chips, I did sneak a few.

One question…In the glow on the log where is that coming from? It’s so beautiful, did you have a fire? It is a great picture, the sky the water even the foreground….

Hi Susan,

No I did not have a fire going. The logs must have been misted because that is the glow of the sun reflecting off the wood. I tell you it was an amazing sunrise. It said alot to me which is not translatable into any language.

I am thrilled the picture came out so well. I am all ready considering for the cover of the 2010 Calendar!!!!!

Nick, as always you never disappoint me when taking photos. These are absolutely beautiful.

I, too, love the sunrise. It’s too beautiful for words!

So glad you had an opportunity to get away to recharge your batteries. We have to do so from time to time to maintain our sense of reality.

My way of charging batteries is to go for a walk with nature, i.e., alongside a lake, walk thru unchartered paths, walk through the cemetary and talk with my friends and family, take a walk along the beach with a steaming cup of hot coffee, or just go outside and sit in silence and watch the little creatures scoot about.

All of God’s creation is beautiful.

Hi Chris

Good to hear from you and I am glad you like this photo. It’s become a favorite.

I agree about recharging batteries. Nature seems to be a natural battery recharger.

Even my drive home tonight in the pouring rain on the freeway with the dark sky setting off the beautiful color of the trees along the way. It was delicious.

All the best.

Nick
