Every infant lives in a bright Garden where everything is sensed directly, without the veils of thought– free of beliefs, interpretation, and judgments.

You fell from grace when you began thinking about– when you became a namer and a knower. It’s not just Adam and Eve, you see, it’s all of us. The birth of the mind is the death of the senses– it’s not that we eat an apple and get a little sexy!

When I read this I understood better what Eckhart Tolle also talks about in his book “A New Earth”.

This illustrates a point I would like to make. You can never read too much on a subject because the author’s words come from a unique source through a new viewpoint which might align with you in a new way.

Bye the way if you haven’t read this book you are missing an amazing, gripping read. I read the entire book on a flight from Vancouver to Toronto.
It really compliments the Eckhart Tolle Book.

Have a great Wednesday.

To follow up with yesterdays quote with three things that bring joy each day. Here are my three things for today.

While visiting a garden center this morning I got caught in a down pour. I had a wonderful time browsing the gift store while the rain came down.

The simple soup I made from the left over roasted veggies from yesterday’s supper brought me happiness.

James Allen Quote on Wholesomeness

As you cannot have a sweet and wholesome abode unless you admit the air and sunshine freely into your rooms, so a strong body and a bright and happy, or serene countenance can only result from the free admittance into the mind of thoughts of joy and goodwill and serenity.

Source: James Allen: As a Man Thinketh

One of the ways to achieve a serene countenance is the observation of the beauty all around you. Each day allow time for focusing on those things that bring you thoughts of joy, and goodwill, and serenity.

I recommend you bring flowers into your home. Even a simple arrangement of daffodils will bring joy to the heart.

Whatever you find that uplifts you, that you should concentrate on bringing more of into your life.

This Tuesday, look around and find one thing today in which you can find joy.

Write about your feelings in your journal.

How about a challenge? Find three things a day that bring you joy, or goodwill or serenity and list them in your journal. Do this for one week. At the end of the week Journal about how this made you feel.

My three things for today.

How the rain is misting my garden and making me feel serene.

The quiet in the house this morning is so peaceful.

The joy of leafing through a new gardening magazine.

Okay your turn.

And remember to walk in quiet places:

Nick
