The Cycle of the Seasons: Quote by Parker Palmer

“Seasons” is a wise metaphor for the movement of life, I think. It suggests that life is neither a battlefield nor a game of chance, but something infinitely richer, more promising, more real. The notion that our lives are like the eternal cycle of the seasons does not deny the struggle or the joy, the loss or the gain, the darkness or the light, but encourages us to embrace it all – and to find in all of it the opportunities for growth.

This quote reflects the whole structure of our lives, from birth, growth , death and rebirth. We have just celebrated Easter, a Christian symbol of the that cycle. But the cycle is universal: found in most religions, spiritual teachingsm, and all around us in nature.
Songs, music and poetry celebrate the circle of life.
In our lives we need to honor the cycle, no matter how difficult the moment might be.
When we stop and contemplate this cycle we find peace in an eternal process, that we are all part of and all share one with another.
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Walk in quiet places,
Nick
A Note to My Readers,
The quotes have been appearing on an irregular basis this last week while I was traveling and did not always have access to the Internet. I am home again for awhile so the quotes page should return to it’s normal schedule.
