In Tools To Life, one of our assignments required us to write down our complains in our complaint file. Making the list of things I complained about taught me just how much I complained.

Learning not to complain proved a difficult task but as time progresses I wrote less and less into my complaint file.

Today I listened to an interview by Joe Vitale as he interviewed the author of A Complaint Free World: How to Stop Complaining and Start Enjoying the Life You Always Wanted , Will Bowen. Mr Bowen initiated a challenge that involved wearing a purple bracelet on one wrist . Every time you complained you had to move the bracelet to the other wrist. The idea was to go 21 days without a complaint.

A complaint is a statement of something you don’t want, and hence something you get. The idea behind both methods is to train you to rescript yourself from negative thought to positive action.

People using the purple bracelet method where taking from two to six months to change their habit of complaint. People on the Tools to Life course worked on through out the length of the course, over 90 days for most people , to achieve a complaint free state.

Start a page in your journal to write down every complaint you utter. Be consistent with the task and eventually you will be rewarded with a complaint free life.
