How to be at peace now?
By making peace with the present moment.
The present moment is the field
on which the game of life happens.
It cannot happen anywhere else.

Take a moment to observe the picture above the quote, I mean really observe. Notice how the yellow of the flowers is highlighted at the tips of some of the tree branches.Notice how the yellow reflects back from the plant’s leaves. Notice how the photo gives off a sunny impression even though there is no evidence of direct sunlight reaching these flowers. Notice how each boot, or slipper has its own bow.
Take a deep breath and let it out slowly and let yourself drift in front of the picture.
Relax, clear you mind of thoughts just observe the photo.
Another deep breath and exhale through your nose.
You are now in the present moment, or present time.
The present moment is bracketed by the past, of which you have no ability to influence, it has gone beyond your reach forever, and by the future, a moment that will only come to you as the present.
We cram our minds so full of past incidents of imagined wrongs or injustices, or : “If I had only”, that we leave little room for now.
Our mission, should we wish to accept it, is to make more room for this moment. This takes practice and committment.
The reward for perserverance is that sudden rush of peace , joy, and contentment that floods in when you truly come alive in the moment. The first time may not last long, but the memory of it will push you forward.
To empty out a mind is not an easy thing, although simple in its essence.
