Beautiful Summer Morning Inspirational Sunday Video

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

I talk  a lot about threads and how these threads  run through our lives and magically come together at the perfect time in your life. They create transformational moments. Today’s Inspirational Sunday Video is one such thread meeting and weaving with the thread of beautiful summer morning which has been an exciting part of my life for almost 2 years now.

The imagery in the video coupled with the music has to make this the official theme song for this Blog.

I also want to coin two new terms. Hard Inspiration, which refers to that riotous over the top , knock ‘em dead passion, and Soft Inspiration: which is the gentle, light and deeply serene kind of inspiration. This video is Soft Inspiration. It is called: IN THE MORNING LIGHT written by Yanni

Please enjoy:

For an added bonus I offer you this link to something that I thought was so special that I couldn’t

wait a week to bring it to you.

The back ground to this video is of two men who raised a lion in Africa and returned him to the wild.

After a year they returned to see how he was fairing. The video records the moment when both the young men and the Lion recognize each other. Have your tissues ready.

This is the start of what I hope will become a new feature as popular as the Inspirational Sunday Video. (See Side bar and click on Inspirational Video).

The first book I want to talk about is  “The Ecstatic Journey: Walking the Mystical Path in Everyday Lifeby Sophy Burnham.

This book covers events in the authors life leading up to her Ecstatic experience and the effects the mystical experience exerted on her life.

”We are rewarded with knowings, visions, and love beyond belief; and yet these ecstasies themselves, as you shall see, are no more than little chocolates tossed out to encourage us on the Way. Just when we think we’ve learned something, we find–there’s always more.” Quote from the Introduction of the Book.

This is a fascinating journey as we follow the writer to her Mystical experience at Machu Picchu in Peru and then her struggles to come to terms with what has happened to her. Ultimately,  the “vision” at Machu Picchu leads to the break of her marriage and her continued searching for answers and to deeper understanding of her transformation.

We are treated on the journey to a history of our spiritual teacher and their stories from across the ages. All faiths, and fellow visionaries are brought forth to describe the various types of “Vision” and how their transformations changed their lives. While there is much about the Christian view, she also explores the phenomena from the view of Taoism, Buddhism  and Islam and other mystic views.

Sophy Burnham writes from her heart with a passion that carries the subject of the book without effort. I found the book thrilling and fascinating. The author weaves the myths and legends with universal truths leaving the reader with breathtaking insights.

Each chapter is introduced with fabulous quotes , short poems , and sayings from the mystics themselves or the people who write about them and spiritual transformations.

If you are at all interested in the path to enlightenment then this is a book you will treasure.
